Building the Foundations and Leaving Space for Effective Vulnerability

There is never a shortage of learning models about Leadership, but in current times things are slightly different; we rarely get to see our teams in person and the human side of management is stretched to its virtual limitations.
One of the fundamental pillars of Leadership is having depth in our own self-awareness, and the knowledge and understanding of how and what makes other’s tick.
We as Leaders know that the key to motivating people is being completely open, compassionate, and transparent, as well as being free to be ourselves, and these essential qualities allow our team to follow suit.
There are several tools to develop this, but we are not just about tools we are about taking the leap and opening ourselves up to being sufficiently vulnerable to allow awareness to filter in. A closed mind is a closed Leader!
Everybody has an innate urge to grow (Yung) and how good is it to know that when you are developing a team? Part of our growing process is to learn how we individually operate, and how we develop the parts of us that we need to learn more about, then how we expand our knowledge about the people around us and those we work with.
Differences happen through -physical, -psychological, and -cultural factors and changes and so if you stir this up with differing beliefs and temperaments, is there any wonder that understanding people can be a real challenge?
Psychological difference is paramount from a leadership or management perspective. Once you understand what makes you and others tick, your whole world and that of your team will look different.
Self-acceptance becomes easier and accepting others and their values becomes a part of your leadership role and a fundamental vehicle towards team success.
Learning and understanding how each other ticks:
• Avoids and resolves conflicts as well as plays to an individual’s strengths and so assists with communication strategies enabling Leaders to adopt a better understanding to give effective feedback
• Identifies gaps in the team which quickly identifies how your team style might work best or better with clients helping us to work together more effectively and relate to each other with improved collaborative team approach
• Enables self-understanding and so personal pressure as well as the stress imposed on other members is reduced, so supporting the team and individuals through any transition
• Informs your own and others decision-making and develops thinking skills as well as emotional intelligence and identifies and develops strengths and weaknesses
• Develops Leaders, Managers, Teams and HR expertise and encourages team members to understand and appreciate different strength to aspire towards
• Changes the culture of the team in a positive way
All the above are solid reasons for creating a deeper awareness of oneself and of others in our team. If our objective is to build and maintain a collaborative and motivated team to drive our company’s identity for success, we need to start here. This is where team coaching mastery can both Enable & Accelerate® the road to internal collaboration and collective performance.
